“Ahoy landlubbers and sailors! Be sure to set course with the captain and his Avid crew, super good and likeable guys! I always felt very well looked after at the kite school on Lake Garda! All in all a super kite experience and simply an amazing time!”

“Highly recommended kite school in a perfect location! After several kite courses in different places around the world, I finally managed to water start with Simon – thanks to the best instructions in theory and practice. The equipment is state-of-the-art, the atmosphere is great, the cozy station is idyllically surrounded by olive trees. Often something is done together in the evening. Accommodations for every taste are within walking distance.”

“Small, nice kite school on Lake Garda. Therefore very personal and informal. You have a lot of time on the water, you learn a lot and above all you have a lot of fun!
I’ve been there twice now. I’ve always met nice people, had a great time (on the water and afterwards) and would love to come back. Thank you.“

Anyone can learn kitesurfing! You don’t need any previous experience and your age doesn’t matter. We have taught students from 10 years old to 84 years old. A certain athleticism naturally increases your learning speed.
A sporty beginner needs an average of 5 to 10 days to kitesurf independently. Depending on your personal learning speed, however, it can also work faster or take a little longer.
The wind and the external conditions are two decisive factors! At Lake Garda in Italy we have twice the chance of wind every day and a huge area to learn kitesurfing in the best conditions. Our kite school on Lake Garda specializes in kite courses for beginners and advanced.
Since kitesurfing is a fun/extreme sport that can also involve dangerous situations, it is particularly important to be taught by a trained and experienced kite instructor and a licensed kite school.
Since Lake Garda has only limited entry options, most kite schools take the boat to the “windy spot”. The kitesurfing schools are mainly located on the east side of Lake Garda, as there are many nice accommodations and opportunities for alternative sports. Avid Kiteboarding is located near Malcesine in Assenza and therefore directly in front of our kitespot.
Kitesurfing, also known as kiting or kiteboarding, is a water sport that emerged from wakeboarding/waterskiing and hang-gliding more than 30 years ago. When kitesurfing, the athlete stands on a board that is similar to a small surfboard or wakeboard. It is pulled by a high-performance stunt kite. The interplay of waves and the power of the wind makes it possible to learn jumps and tricks.
Depending on whether you want to buy new or used kitesurfing equipment and to what extent, you will need between €1000 and €3500 on average. After completing your kite lesson you can also rent kite equipment. But let our team at our Lake Garda kiteschool advise you!
Since there is a wide variety of equipment for kitesurfing, it is recommended, especially for beginners and advanced kitesurfers, to try out the equipment before buying it and to seek advice from an expert (kite instructor / kite shop). On average, however, you need two kites, a bar, one board and a harness to cover most of the wind range.
Our Lake Garda kite school is located at one of the most wind-resistant kite spots in Europe and is recommended for its warm temperatures and the huge area. In Germany, the North and Baltic Seas are particularly recommended.
During the winter months, Avid Kiteboarding offers kite camps and sailing trips to the most beautiful and windiest kite spots in the world. Brazil, the Caribbean and Egypt are popular kite travel destinations.
